what death teaches me

the very first coherent thought i had after hearing about the passing of a friend was:

“no more canceling dates

months had gone by without us getting in touch, calling and honouring set up dates. this happened even though we didn’t live too far from each other. something would come up, it would rain, i’d be anti-social…

time flew by and then suddenly there was no next time. no tomorrow. then all one has left are the gaps of experience left unfilled.
