a poem | the sun and the wind

sun wrote on my back
the heat searing my skin
the scorching for sharpening memory.
it read: forget not what is written in blood.

a breeze kissed my wounds
the cool easing my spine
i almost forgot but the healing mounds
would not let me: forget not what was written in blood.
